Residents meeting to discuss NWLA waste site proposal

You should have recently received a flyer through your door describing the potentially disastrous downsides of the North London Waste Authority plans to build a waste treatment plant in our area.

A special residents meeting is taking place in The Sheridan Hall, Scout Park, Gordon Road, N11 on 24th March at 8pm to outline the potential impacts.  Click here for a map

The bgdra urge you to attend the meeting to find out more and get involved.  Your views deserve to be heard and this meeting will help make sure they are.

  1. I won’t be able to attend the meeting, but below are comments I have already made to NLWA:
The recent fire history of such premises in the UK is extremely poor
Fire brigade access to the site is very limited.
Firefighting water supplies are restricted (One single 150mm main, would feed three/four main jets only).
Contaminated firefighting water will drain onto the N Circular and the various small streams and culverts.
Depending on wind direction, any fire has the possibility of demanding closure of (some or all of) the main rail line from Kings Cross, the Piccadilly Line, N Circ Road, and local housing
